The existing roof was cut open to tie in the new porch roof.
Posts were incorporated into the previously constructed deck.
2×12 rafters span across the deck from the house to a 4×12 beam.
2×12 blocking stiffens the frame.
Heavy duty hardware connects the posts and beam. The rafter tails are tapered to allow for a narrower fascia.
