Bench for Hanging Doors

This is an oak door bench to assist in prepping doors for hanging.  The rungs on the legs are adjustable for different door widths.

Shelves on both ends of the bench hold door-hanging tools.

A power strip provides plenty of outlets for tools.  Carpet scrap around the top of the bench protects doors from marring when you lay them down to cut the top and bottom.  The aluminum hook on the left supports the top edge of the door when placed on edge for planing and boring.

Setting up the door bench for action.  The legs fold up underneath so it is easy to transport.

Tools are stored on the shelves for quick access.  A planer is used for beveling the door edge, routers are used for making the hinge and latch mortises, and drills are used for boring for the lockset and attaching hardware.

A new door in place on the bench, ready to be fitted for its jamb.
